Hello Breakfast Club,

I will not be able to attend the breakfast this Saturday. My boss' boss just told me that we are so far behind this month that I need to ship product on Saturday and we will be doing inventory also. So, I will probably not see anyone until Saturday night. Enjoy your breakfast and you could always try the Quiche Lorraine if you need a suggestion for this week. I do not have the recipe with me now but, if anyone is interested, I can post the recipe when I get home

Hi everyone. My suggestion for this week's upcoming breakfast is a simple classic breakfast dish: buttermilk pancakes. The recipe I found is the same one used in the Ihop restaurants and with a few small tweaks it can easily be converted into an all natural and healthy recipe. I gave this a trial run at home last week and they turned out rather good. Here's the list of ingredients. Let me know your thoughts and any other suggestion there may be. See ya, Sam.
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (change to whole wheat pastry flour)
1 egg
1 1/4 cups organic buttermilk
1/4 cup granulated sugar (change to maple sugar)
1 heaping teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup cooking oil (change to organic butter)
pinch of salt

Hello Breakfast Club I have 2 menu suggestions for next Saturday's breakfast:

(1) Quiche Lorraine
homefries or fried sweet potatoes
coffee (strong and lots of it)
bagels, muffins, or scones for appetizers

(2) Hashed Brown Omelet (the recipe includes a meat and potatoes)
coffee
muffins, bagels, or scones

Quiche Lorraine Ingredients: Serves 6
12 slices of turkey bacon
1 cup of shredded cheese (goat's)
1/3 cup chopped onion
4 eggs
2 cups of cream
salt
pepper
cayenne pepper

Hashed Brown Omelet Ingredients: Serves 4 so we could double everything
4 slices of turkey bacon
3 cups of shredded potatoes
1/4 cup of onion
1/4 cup of green pepper
4 eggs
1/4 cup of goats milk
1 cup of shredded cheese

Would anyone be interested in trying either of these?

Okay. I thought maybe this week someone would post earlier, but I guess we're all still waiting for someone else to do it. I'll do it again because I beat everyone to it.

Which sounds better to all of you?
  • A diner-style breakfast of black coffee (you can use cream if you must), eggs, toast, potatoes and other assorted greasy spoon items as suggested by Jorry in conversation last week
  • My unchosen suggestion from last week of Eggs Benedict
  • A continental breakfast of assorted bagels, muffins, etc.
Cast your vote for what you'd enjoy and then I'll prepare a list of ingredients. But for people to get everything in enough time, everyone should post by tomorrow morning.

What? No one has any culinary creations to propose this week? Okay. I'll throw one out there. How do you all feel about Eggs Benedict? For that we would need:

Loads of eggs (of course)
Ezekiel English muffins
Turkey bacon or maybe smoked salmon
Vinegar
Lemon juice
Butter
Paprika

I can supply some eggs and the butter, lemon juice and paprika.

Or . . .

We could do another round of fritattas, for which we would need:

Eggs
Goat's milk mozzarella
Chevre
Chicken sausage or salmon
Sundried tomatoes (to go with sausage because the salmon does best on its own)
Roasted red peppers (again, with the sausage)
Anything else you'd find tasty in the fritattas
Bread for toasting
Potatoes for homefries

For this, I'd be happy to provide the chicken sausage and roasted red peppers.

So what do you think?
