Hi guys and lady. Do we feel like giving the French Toast Casserole a try this week? If you think that this sounds like a winner let me know your thoughts and I'll get it preped Friday night. And of course the ever popular homefries would be a great addition as well. Let me know what your thinking and we'll see you Saturday.

Hey Sam, I would be up for trying your suggestion. Would you provide a link to the recipe or list the ingredients that are required. I can not remember what the recipe called for and I did not see it listed on the blog. If everyone else decides to give it a try then I will know exactly what ingredients and how much of them that I need to bring.

Het Gary, I already have most of the ingredients. But this recipe calls for everything to be mixed up ahead of time and set overnight before baking. Perhaps if you'd like to bring some kind of fruit topping or potatos that would be great. Here's a list of the ingredients so everyone knows what's in it:
10 cups cubed sturdy bread
cooking spray
1 ( 8 oz.) block of cream cheese, softened
8 large eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
2/3 cup half-and-half
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Maple syrup

Sam ... IMHO, this sounds like it would taste great, but I'm wondering if there's a way to "healthanize" it. Most of the Waffle-hausers are at least trying to watch their refined sugar and flour intake. I'm not savvy enough in the culinary arts to have many solid improvements suggestions, but I think dialing in a healthier recipe would garner broader support. Ray

No problem. This whole recipe can be made with all natural ingredients. Ezekiel bread, organic eggs & cream cheese, goats milk instead of regular milk, organic half & half and pure maple syrup.

Well, I'd be happy to provide potatoes. I was also thinking about making some healthy scones if I can get my hands on some maple sugar.
