Ideas?

I'm thinking about breakfast on Saturday and think maybe something light and easy would be good--mainly because I'm kind of worn out. How do breakfast sandwiches sound? We could do bagels and lox or scrambled eggs on bagels or something of the like. How's that sound?

Breakfast sandwiches sound good and I also mentioned last Saturday that I would bring up Belgian Waffles again just incase anyone would be interested. So here is the recipe I have:

Belgian Waffles
3 large eggs
1 1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tbs vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tbs baking powder
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt

In a large mixing bowl, beat whole eggs until thick. Add milk, melted butter, and the vanilla ... continue beating mixture for 2 minutes. Combine the dry ingredients, sift into egg mixture and beat well for 2 more minutes. If necessary, add more milk ... batter should be about the consistency of pancake batter.
Brush melted butter over the ridges of a hot Belgian style waffle iron. Ladle the batter over the hot iron and bake according to iron manufacturer's instructions (usually about 2 minutes). When done, ridges on waffle will be deep golden brown and crispy.
Top with your favorite fresh berries or sliced fruit (strawberries, peaches, poached pears, apples with cinnamon, etc) and whipped cream. Just before serving, sprinkle waffle with powdered sugar. Makes 6-8 waffles depending on the size of your waffle iron.

Hmmm ... both ideas sound so good. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this Saturday's event. I am working until 1:00ish, then music practice at 3:00. But hopefully, we can hook up sometime on Saturday. Ray :^)

Both ideas sound great. However I haven't Belgian Waffles in ages. I'll cast my vote for the waffles this time. But whatever we go with I can furnish the eggs & potatoes for hashed browns or home fries. See ya Saturday, Sam

We could also do something crazy and go out for breakfast. I can't take credit for this one. It's all the JY, but it does sound like a nice change and a great option. He suggested Le Oui Oui, but there's a number of places we could go if we head north. The Diner on Clifton has great breakfast, and if diner food is your thing, there's a place called My Friends that has a pretty solid menu, complete with turkey sausage and bacon. Or--if it's still open--I know a greasy spoon run by a Greek family. They do yummy French toast and pancakes and serve gyro meet as a side. What do you think?
